You think you're better than others?

Why do people always think that they are better than others?
January 2012

Honestly, I don’t know. (Sometimes I do it.) But maybe I can guess?
Maybe, because they are pessimists. Negative thinkers. They think of everything about everything negative (Not at least for themselves). It’s just that there are people who can’t see the beauty of life (or they don’t wanna see it), all they see are the faults of other people. Be careful to this people, one mistake and all the good in your life will be gone in an instant…. In their eyes. How sure I am? I’ve met some.

Or maybe… because they are sooooo in love!!!! With themselves. You know those kind of people who like it so much to sit in front of a mirror and admire themselves while looking on their reflection checking if there’s anything wrong about themselves but actually thinking that there’s nothing bad about them as if they are the only perfect person in the world (exaggerating, I am.) But yes there are. Whether you believe it or not, these terrible people exist (sad to say). So what do you do if fate decided to bring you face to face with these creatures? (curse fate) Avoid them. That’s it.

Or  maybe, insecurity. You know, trying to boost their confidence by thinking that they are better than others, because the truth is they don’t believe in themselves and deep inside them they know that someone is really better than them but they just don’t wanna admit it. If you are like this, then try to change. If you meet someone like this don’t try to change them, you can’t.

Or  maybe because they are richer. Yes money, the root of evil (or should I say the love of money is the root of evil.) Hay. Many people believe that having a lot more money can make you powerful. And power will make you better. It can make you feel that you can control, manipulate other people who have less of it. I can’t blame them, many times; you can really feel that money is something that controls your life. So what do you do? Get all your money out of your life? (I’m not a fool) Oh no, you need money but don’t just love it. Love people more than this.

I guess, my guesses are all set and I don’t really know if I got any answers. But here is one thing I think I’m quite certain: If you really think that you’re better than somebody and you don’t belong to any of the above, then maybe you are really better than them? Sometimes it happens… :P (of course I’m kidding)

So this is it, if you just can’t stop thinking about this, Just stop thinking that you’re better than someone because you’re not. Definitely not. So that may settle it.

Loving your Enemy

Matthew 5:43-44 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. The first step to love our enemies is to pray for them. Jesus said, ‘pray for those who persecute you.’ If we pray for our enemies, something mysterious happens inside us. It is like pouring icy cold water to your sizzling emotions. When we continue to pray goodness for our enemies everyday, one day you’ll realize that your anger has gone. And once we have removed our anger, we can start doing good things for them such as: Forgiving and forgetting about their sins against us. Forgiveness is an act of the will of the heart. And Christian forgiveness means that when we forgive, we also forget. Love keeps no record of wrongs. Reaching out to them. We do not just forgive our enemies, we also take steps to be closer to them. Real forgiveness demands restoration of relationship. Just like how Go...

There is no Fear in the Light

Psalms 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? Fear is darkness . And there is only one solution to darkness, it is LIGHT. There can only be darkness when there is an absence of light. Same with our fears, we can overcome all of it using the liberating light of God. The Lord is our light and our salvation, whom shall we fear? Fear is controlled by our doubts but our Faith controls certainty. Fear sees darkness, while faith sees light. While fear sees wickedness, faith sees the goodness of the Lord. Nothing and no one can stop the light of God. So whenever we have the light of God, there can never be a shadow of darkness in our lives.   Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12) If we obey His commandments, we follow His examples and...

Godly Silence

Psalm 46:10 BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD. IMPORTANCE OF SILENCE In Psalms, God instructs us to be silent and to stop or pause to see how He works. It is important that we learn when to pause, and start listening to God. Because in Silence, God speaks to us. Why do we have to be silent? In Silence, we feel God’s presence. We hear God’s voice. We cannot hear the voice of the Spirit if we let the noise of this world and our own mind keep on going. Especially in times of troubles, what we need the most is to be silent, pray and talk to God and we’ll feel better and at peace with Him. In Silence, we unite with nature, we refresh our soul and we grow. See the trees, the flowers, the stars and the moon, see how they move in silence. They move beautifully. In silence we can also move beautifully and gracefully, carefully guided by the Holy Spirit. In silence, we see what God can do. We don’t just feel Him, we see how great His works are. God moves in the most unexpe...
