Loving your Enemy

Matthew 5:43-44 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. The first step to love our enemies is to pray for them. Jesus said, ‘pray for those who persecute you.’ If we pray for our enemies, something mysterious happens inside us. It is like pouring icy cold water to your sizzling emotions. When we continue to pray goodness for our enemies everyday, one day you’ll realize that your anger has gone. And once we have removed our anger, we can start doing good things for them such as: Forgiving and forgetting about their sins against us. Forgiveness is an act of the will of the heart. And Christian forgiveness means that when we forgive, we also forget. Love keeps no record of wrongs. Reaching out to them. We do not just forgive our enemies, we also take steps to be closer to them. Real forgiveness demands restoration of relationship. Just like how Go...

OCC Parugan Children's Outreach

Last June 4-7, 2013, Emmanuel's Christian Family Life Ministries conducted the Operation Christmas Child Program. It is a program wherein Children are taught about Jesus Christ and they will be receiving donated gifts in shoe boxes. During these days, classes have already started so it is very hard for us, the Sunday School teachers, to compromise with the schedule of the kids. We weren't able to make them go to church for almost a week to attend the teaching program anymore. But this didn't stop us either from pursuing this activity. Instead of making the kids go to us, what we did is to go to them. Our head Sunday school teacher assigned us to different places to teach, some have partners, some didn't, depending on the number of children we are going to teach. Since I only have less than ten students, I was assigned to go alone in Sitio Parugan. I didn't know if I will consider myself blessed  that time because the venue where I will be teaching is the ho...

Generation Saved

Happy First year Anniversary GenSaved! I love you all guys and girls! We've been through a lot and we know that the Lord has always been with us. In every circumstance, The Lord proves that He never leaves nor forsakes us. He is truly amazing in our lives both individually and as a whole. Let us continue being servants of the Lord! "If you want to be like Jesus, you have to be a servant with a good heart. He said, "I came to serve, not to be served." (Mat 20:28). -A true servant of God will be willing to serve in lowly areas – areas that nobody else would want to serve in. -A true servant of God is that this person gives and serves without expecting anything in return. -The true servant of God will be willing to give of his or herself even to their enemies. -A true servant will never boast, or think of himself highly because he is serving the Lord. "It won’t even enter his mind that he did such good deeds! -True servants of God will serve with joy all t...

Tanag Children's Outreach

Praising and Worshiping the Lord is not something to be ashamed of. Instead we must be proud to let others see that we know how to praise and thank God for everything that He'd done to our lives. We can show our love for God when we know that praising and worshiping God is not crazy but a pleasing offering for God especially when it comes from a pure heart like these children. Continue dancing with praises and thanksgiving to the Lord because He truly deserves it. (with Zaira Merlas and Jessa Romero)

The Day I'll Never Forget

Last August 4, 2012, I celebrated my 18 th Birthday, 2 days advance to its actual date. It was really special. It’s not that much because every preparation for that special day was all by our own efforts and just the help of all the very special people in my life. We never paid for services from other people like catering, event organizer, sounds and lights etc. In fact, I really felt that the efforts from these closest people to me are the very same reason why my birthday is extra more special. We started preparing for these a month before the date. Actually I myself, never really exerted so much effort for the preparations, aside from of course, what color would I like to use, what will I wear and who are the friends I’m going to include to the 18’s. I want to express so much of my gratitude to my ever supportive mother and sister and of course my father, who gave all their efforts in the preparations and helped me decide on things I’ve had a hard time deciding. All their ...

CHANGE OR MORALITY?

Reproductive Health Bill No. 5043 has been taking our leaders quite some time already and yet decisions can’t still be made. Why does this issue of family planning and population growth taking us too long? Is this bill really a work of evil trying to lure us into doing something that looks good yet will destroy our stand and morality later on? RH bill if passed will be a national policy on reproductive health, responsible parenthood and population development. For pro-RH Bill people, this bill is a very good way of promoting responsible parenthood. The Reproductive Health bill will be helping the Filipino parents, especially the poor to plan their family so that they can have children that will suit their financial capabilities. Thus, it will help solve their problem about food and education for their children. It will also be the way to control our population which is growing so fast, leaving us high rate of lives to be sustained with limited resources. But the Anti’s will ...

Tired Already?

“Tired for Doing Good” “Don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time.” -Galatians 6:9 Sometimes, doing what is good and pleasing to God may seem tiring, even boring and less adventurous. Or maybe you are doing it for so long that it seems so ordinary. No matter what kind of person you are, there will come a time that temptations will come. You will experience great curiosity on things you weren’t doing before. May it be for better or for worse. Sometimes, we feel that we are doing everything good yet no one even bother to thank and appreciate us. Discouraging isn’t it? During these times, let us go back to the beginning of everything, the cross. On that Cross, where so much love was given just for us. For us, sinners, wrong doers, impure, hard headed, boastful. Jesus never got tired on carrying that cross, because it’s the will of the Father for His people, because it was neede...
