Feeling Envious?

ENVY
“Then I observed that most people are motivated to success by their envy of their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless, like chasing the wind.”
Ecclesiastes 4:4

It is a fact that we don’t always get what we want. Sometimes even when we already have almost all the good things there will always be something you do not have that unfortunately, you will see in other people. The initial reaction to this is envy. We became envious because we think that life is unfair. Others may think that it isn’t envy, its motivation. Because we see what our neighbors have over us, we tend to do everything just to acquire what others have or what others had become that we envied. And then, we call it “AMBITIONS.”

Isn't it wrong? That we replace envy, by the word Ambition? Ambitions are strong desires to do or to achieve something while envy is a painful desire on what others have. When you want something and you do everything to reach it because others have it and it is painful for you to see it enjoyed by somebody else, that’s envy, my dear. Envy is meaningless, chasing the wind, chasing something you can’t ever chase. Even if you do get what you want, you’ll never be contented. It is not the will of God in our lives. The Lord wants to give us love, joy and peace. And having envy in our lives would stop us from having the joy in seeing beautiful things that God gave us, having the peace of being contented and experiencing the love of God in our lives. Stop reaching what others have, those are not real dreams. Seek the will of God in your life, live our lives to the fullest by seeing what we already have than looking for things that we don’t.

Success isn’t becoming greater than somebody else. It is becoming the best in what God wants us to be. Stop feeling envious on what others have. And see that you have more than what you think you have!

Loving your Enemy

Matthew 5:43-44 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. The first step to love our enemies is to pray for them. Jesus said, ‘pray for those who persecute you.’ If we pray for our enemies, something mysterious happens inside us. It is like pouring icy cold water to your sizzling emotions. When we continue to pray goodness for our enemies everyday, one day you’ll realize that your anger has gone. And once we have removed our anger, we can start doing good things for them such as: Forgiving and forgetting about their sins against us. Forgiveness is an act of the will of the heart. And Christian forgiveness means that when we forgive, we also forget. Love keeps no record of wrongs. Reaching out to them. We do not just forgive our enemies, we also take steps to be closer to them. Real forgiveness demands restoration of relationship. Just like how Go...

Unworthy

We are worthless in God's holy presence. We are just worms in God's sight. We are nothing compared to Him. So in everything we say and do, we must always be reminded that God whom we are serving is a perfect God and the greatest of all. We must be careful not to boast of our goodness to Him because nobody is good enough for God. But then, the Lord does not look on our imperfections. He sees what's in our hearts and if we are willing to be His children, He will certainly accept and change us to be a better person. God sees our worth as His creation and His love for us makes us worthy to come to Him even though we're actually not.

PNOY's Speech Reaction (TV Patrol 25th Anniversary)

Like President Noynoy Aquino, I want to congratulate TV Patrol for their 25 years of serving the people of the Philippines. PNOY’s speech was very honest yet he never forgot being polite. I believe that the message he wanted to tell especially the news commentators was clearly delivered although people may have different feedback about it. Although, some may think that the President ruined the celebration by pointing out the news anchor of TV Patrol who gave his comment/opinion that made a bad image for the government about news they were reporting. According to the president’s speech, the comment of the news anchor makes the good news appear to be a not-so-good one and is obviously against the government. Because of this, the people who hear may also be influenced about his opinion and eventually believe that the government is really doing nothing good and the country has no progress at all. The comment of the president sounds right to me but it may also change if I ...
